Inventor & CEO
Portable Farms
Colle Davis
Colle Davis, the inventor of the Portable FarmTM, majored in the field of Renewable Natural Resources in 1972, at the University of California at Davis, and he's been refining Portable FarmsTM for the past 37 years.
After a career as a successful entrepreneur, businessman and consultant, Colle made the time to continue his research to reduce the chronic problems of tank sediment and he discovered a new pumping system that solved all the clogging problems in the fish tank and made it possible for the system to automatically remove the sediments from the fish tank without clogging the pump to grow healthier fish and vegetables. This new system made it possible to fully automate the farm using his own unique engineering, so that anyone, anywhere, could raise their own food.
Portable FarmsTM has been through many, many iterations and improvements over the years, and Colle and his wife, Phyllis, have four Portable FarmsTM on their small two-acre farm, in Escondido, California, located 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean. They enjoy all the organic table vegetables, berries, tomatoes, and fish they can possibly eat, with enough surplus left over to feed organic vegetables every day to 50 people, plus one serving of fish per week, per person, year round. The Davis' offer daily tours of their Portable FarmsTM and people travel from all over the world to see them.
Colle Davis has been a world-famous Executive Coach, mentor and trusted advisor to top-level management in American Business for more than twenty-five years. Mr. Davis speaks and trains executives in companies and organizations on the topics of diplomacy skills and effective communications in business today, as well as within governments.
His clients and corporate leaders appreciate his no-nonsense practical style that gets them to their goals. His clients have called him their 'secret weapon' in gaining competitive advantages. As much as he enjoys being an Executive Coach, his lifelong passion has always been to reduce the impact of human activity on the earth, which inspired him to become the inventor of Portable FarmsTM.
With the growing concern for world hunger and poverty, Colle's commitment deepened to his lifelong goal of breaking the cycle of poverty and feeding the 12.6 percent of the world's population that are literally starving to death from Protein-energy malnutrition (PEM).
"Sometimes, all it takes is one simple idea that leads to other ideas and then on to other answers... it is in that collaboration that people will solve the problems of the world. But first, let's feed people and give them a livelihood instead of a handout. Then after that, let's do it again and again and again."

These days, bronze sculpture and mechanical tinkering occupy a good part of his creative energies.
